High Voltage

High Voltage

When you're wandering around a mall, any subject is fair game for photography. I had more fun searching out things to shoot than any time I've had shopping at a mall.

I'll keep sharing some of my favorite signs this week.

Good news, life has been busy. Better news, it's been busy not because of my day job but because of my writing. I've been continuing my hard work on my non-fictional geek themed writing (I can't think of a better way to describe it), and it's paying off. I'm not going to be quitting said day job anytime soon... but it's rewarding.

It's a challenge to divide up my time into little blocks to ensure that I don't burn out. I still have lots of fun, but for example, I haven't been outside exploring in far too long. I'm still figuring out the balance. And I can only hope I'll get it eventually.

  1. Balance can be a delicate thing, but from what I've seen of the way you manage your time, Amy, you must be doing a heck of a lot right with it. I appreciate your writing self-discipline ~ good for you!

  2. Good news that you've been busy with a rewarding creative life beyond your day job. Seems like the word Voltage describes your energy level. Writing always seems to me the most difficult of creative disciplines. It takes so much out of one. Keep following your dreams and success in many unexpected forms will find you!

  3. Wow, alot going on, as long as you're having fun, that's what counts, pursuing your dreams. Funny, I never thought of a shopping mall as a place I'd ever go to look for photo material... I keep having this recurring desire to head down into the wilds of south central France to go look for abandoned farms from centuries ago. May just have to do something about that recurring daydream...

  4. Shell - I need to figure out how to get a little more down time without having tons of things pile up. But it is very exciting at least!

Stickup Artist - I feel like I need a constant caffeine IV to keep going most days. I don't sleep enough.... but I'm hoping that if I keep at it, I will one day be able to write full time. Hopefully.

Owen - It is fun and a lot of hard work. I can only hope that it will work out one day. :) A shopping mall wouldn't be the place I would normally go, but I was surprised to find some shapes and colors there to take a second look at.

I think you should definitely act on that recurring daydream. And not just because I can't wait to see the photos.
